A Sample of My Work

Since 2010, I’ve been working in the field of UX Design as a freelancer and full-time with a specific area of expertise around designing content management and design tools. During my tenure with OpenText, I have overseen the development of numerous features and enhancements that have helped TeamSite and Optimost become market leaders according to the analyst firms Gartner and Forrester. Here are a few projects from my career that best show my abilities as a UX designer.

The Asset view project is intended to be a revitalization of the TeamSite asset library. New and infrequent users of TeamSite can often struggle to navigate, browse, and perform specific tasks within the existing library. The Asset View project focuses on standardizing and refining the User Interface of the Folder Tree, Filters, Sorting, and various actions. This project is awaiting prioritization for development.

The Page Targeting feature was designed to allow users a simple and intuitive way to create page variants and target those variants to specific audiences. Previously, targeting in TeamSite required users to create all of their audience and content rules separate from the page editor using what was known as a “bottom-up” approach. The Page Targeting feature complements this approach by allowing users to create targeting rules in a “top-down” approach. This project was developed and released as a part of OpenText TeamSite version 20.2.

As TeamSite’s capabilities have expanded, the tiles have become cluttered with action buttons and statuses. Item tiles in TeamSite contain a confusing layout of action buttons and statuses. The Asset Tile project is intended to revise and improve the tile design in Experience Studio. This project is awaiting prioritization for development.

The Home Dashboard project was developed in an effort to improve the first-five-minute experience of TeamSite. Customer research found that TeamSite, while robust in its capabilities, could be quite daunting to new users. The primary design goal was to provide users with access to common functions delivered in an intuitive layout. The Home Dashboard was developed and released as a part of OpenText TeamSite version 16.6.1.

The Data Provisioning project was developed to allow users to create complex data models using a simple and easy to use web interface. With the data provisioning application, users can upload their big data tables, cleanse their data sets, and then join those data sets into a data model. With the data model, users can find key insights in their data, create comprehensive visualization dashboards, and support complex web applications. The Data Provisioning application was released in 2016 as a part of the Magellan iHub product suite.
